Statement on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
The Work and Family Researchers Network (WFRN) is committed to finding ways to diversify the voices represented in work-family scholarship. WFRN sees a pressing need to decolonize the curriculum and work-family scholarship to amplify marginalized voices (including Black, Indigenous, ethnic minority, LGBTQ+, lower socioeconomic class/caste and Global South). We aim to meet these goals through the following action points:
- Working to ensure that marginalized groups are represented in the governance structure of the WFRN
- Providing WFRN Conference Travel Awards to increase the representation of Global South scholars at WFRN conferences
- Amplifying marginalized scholars and/or research taking place within these spaces via a number of initiatives, such as (virtual) seminar series
- Work towards highlighting curriculum on work-family issues that accounts for a more diverse range of experiences in our teaching materials and highlighting work conducted within marginalized communities and/or by marginalized scholars

Statement Against Racism
The Work and Family Researchers Network (WFRN) is united in our deep anger and sadness about recent and continued acts of violence and brutality against Black people in the United States. We express sorrow and condemnation about the unjust killings of Black Americans including George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and many others. We stand firm in our declaration that Black Lives Matter and in our commitment to justice and equality across the globe.
As an organization, we are not exempt from the reflective work necessary to disrupt structural racism. The present moment is an opportunity to reflect on ways to enhance equality and inclusiveness in our organization, work-family scholarship, and larger society. WFRN is dedicated to ensuring diverse voices are represented in our organization’s membership and leadership.
