The WFRN seeks a Director of its Early Career Fellowship Program. The Early Career Fellowship Program provides support for recent doctoral recipients to advance their research, teaching, and long-term career prospects. By offering networked resources and consultation, it helps promising new scholars move into tenure-track, tenured, and secure senior-level positions, as well as engage them with the work and family community of scholars.
The Director will be responsible for leading the selection committee; organizing and leading a full-day preconference to be held on June 19, 2024 at Concordia University; conduct three or more virtual career mentorship events in the year following the biennial conference, facilitate peer review of manuscripts, grant applications, tenure review statements, or other products developed by fellows, advise the WFRN Board on ways to support scholars at their early career stages. The Director will receive an honorarium of $2000, registration to the 2024 WFRN conference in Montreal, and 2 years membership.
Eligible candidates must hold a Ph.D. and have attained a senior-level appointment of associate professor or higher (or equivalent). Eligible candidates must have a scholarship program that focuses on work-family concerns. Ideal candidates will have a history of engagement with the WFRN.
