Coming to Montreal but are not a Canadian Citizen?

Check your passport and visa status now, as you will need it to enter the country (including from the United States).

Book Your Hotel Room

Discount hotel rooms are available at Sheraton Le Centre Montreal and at Concordia University.  The room block is limited and closes May 26, so book your stay soon.  If you need a roommate, look to the conference webpage to connect with other participants.

Food and Receptions

You will not go hungry! Light refreshments will be available throughout the conference.  Lunches with vegetarian and gluten free options will be provided Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Our Gala Reception with hors d’oeuvres and wine/beer immediately follows the presidential plenary on Thursday afternoon.  Our Kanter Reception follows the presidential plenary on Friday afternoon.  Our conference will end on Saturday with a Send-Off Social with treats and prizes.

Networking Dinners

This year networking dinners are scheduled for 7pm Friday June 19 with parties meeting at venues of their own choosing. You must register your interest no later than May 1.

Mentorship Opportunities

The WFRN Mentorship Program fosters meaningful connections among scholars at different career stages. The program fosters career-oriented conversations and encourages development of longer-term, mutually-supportive relationships within the WFRN. You must register your interest no later than April 15.

Local Expeditions

WFRN is organizing a series of expeditions to places of interest in Montreal on the preconference day (June 17).  You must register your interest no later than April 15.

Preconference Events

Registration for preconference events is now closed.  We look forward to an engaging set of meetings on Wednesday June 17, including:

  • Graduate Student Workshops for 50 participants
  • Early Career Fellowship Workshops for 30 participants
  • Writing Workshops for 40 participants
  • Cognitive Labor and the Mental Load Conference for 30 participants

Guidance for Presenters

Paper presenters are asked to keep presentations to 12 minutes to allow for meaningful exchanges. Poster presenters, please have your posters be no larger than 4 feet high (122cm) and 3 feet wide (91cm).  Additional detailed guidance is on the conference webpage.

Childcare

Childcare is available from 8am to 5pm on Thursday June 18 and Friday June 19 on-site at Concordia University in room MB 9-D.  Space is limited, so sign up soon.

Best Conference Paper Award Deadline Extended

Lastly, please consider nominating or self-nominating your presentation for consideration for the Best Conference Paper Award. Don’t delay, the deadline is April 1.
