Postdoctoral Fellow
Swedish Institute for Social Research

The position as a Postdoctoral Fellow is connected to the comparative social policy research carried out at the Swedish Institute for Social Research and part of the project GENPARENT; Revealing Sources of Gendered Parenthood: A multi-method comparative study of the transition to parenthood in same-sex and different-sex couples (www.sofi.su.se/genparent), funded by the European Research Council (ERC). The project focuses on the division of work and care in same-sex and different-sex couples with children in the Nordic countries, the Netherlands and the United States. Based on analyses of population registers, the project aims at increasing knowledge about care-, work- and income-related consequences of the transition to parenthood. For the current project, a focus on male same-sex couples could be one of possible topics. This group is rarely studied in quantitative data analyses, but the register data encompass large enough numbers to allow for meaningful analyses.

Main responsibilities
The postdoctoral fellow is expected to bring plans for his/her own research, collaborate with other project members, and contribute to the development of quantitative research on same-sex couples. (S)he is expected to perform high level research and publish in international, scientific journals.
