Dear WFRN Members,

The WFRN leadership has been closely following the spread of COVID-19 and the public health responses in New York City.  As you no doubt know, COVID-19 has greatly impacted the New York City area, even to the extent of forcing our hotel venue, the Hilton Midtown, to temporarily close.  Owing to our contractual obligations, we are not yet in a position to cancel the conference.

We emphasize that our primary interest is protecting the health and well-being of our members, their families and their communities. Our hope is that the current public health concerns in New York are resolved well in advance of the June 24-27th conference. We also recognize the very real possibility that conditions may not sufficiently abate to justify the risks associated with holding a large professional in-person event.

With this in mind, we offer the following guidance:

  • Continue to monitor the public health situation in New York City and make travel plans accordingly;
  • If you have already booked a flight to New York City, monitor your airline’s refund policy, understanding the possibility that the WFRN 2020 conference might potentially be moved to an innovative online format if it is not possible to hold the in-person event in June;
  • Continue to monitor the WFRN website and News Feed for conference updates.

Please know that we remain committed to holding the 2020 conference, but our planning continues in the context of ever-changing conditions that are currently beyond anyone’s control.
