New York Events, Social Activities, and Attractions

New York City is one of the most exciting places in the world to visit.  The conference venue is just a two minute walk to Times Square, which is best seen at night when all the lights come on.  Grand Central Station is close by, as is the Theater District.  New Yorkers will tell you that (generally) better restaurants will be found as one moves away from Times Square rather than toward it.  Look toward Hell’s Kitchen (a short walk, 8th-9th Avenues, 43rd-56th Streets) for many reasonable options and great variety of choices.  Looking to see a show?  Book tickets in advance for the big shows on Broadway, but there are a number of small theaters off Broadway that offer affordable options.   And what can be better than to take a jog or run in Central Park (a 10 minute walk from the the Hilton Midtown), or to walk the Skyline (a short cab ride).

“I love to take in shows off broadway, especially at the Cherry Lane Theater which has some wonderful performances in an incredibly intimate space.  Anyone up for a run in Central Park?”-Stephen Sweet

Kahlil King recommends restaurant Rue 57 (4 minute walk), Sarabeth’s for brunch (7 minute walk), and Michelin star rated Le Bernandin (3 minute walk, must make reservations).
