Global Online Sessions Overview

WFRN hosts virtual conference events featuring researchers from low- and middle-income countries, as well as studies of work and family concerns as experienced in the Global South.  The goal of the Global Online Sessions (GOS) is to identify challenges experienced within societies less commonly recognized in work-family research, as well as support the efforts of scholars from low- and middle-income countries who are unable to attend WFRN’s in-person conferences.  The events are open to the public and are advertised to attract the attention of the work-family community of scholars.

Submission and Acceptance Procedures

Papers must be empirically grounded and make substantive contributions to understandings of work and family concerns.  Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis and there is no deadline for submission.  The WFRN International Committee will periodically review submissions to determine viability of creating theme-oriented sessions that focus on concerns common among submitted papers.  If a paper can be integrated into a cohesive session, the submitting author will be contacted.

Submissions Require the Following Items

  • Author(s)
  • Author(s) current position(s)/appointment(s)
  • Presentation title
  • Abstract (700-1200 words)

Registration

There is no registration fee to submit a proposal.  If a submission is selected for presentation, the presenter must join the WFRN.  WFRN provides substantially discounted memberships for individuals from low and middle-income countries.
