Yang’s research examines intersectional inequalities in work-family life in a global context. His research contributes to advancing work-family justice and social equality, as well as our understanding of how macro socio-economic, political and institutional developments and cultural changes (re)configure everyday family and work lives. His research has been funded by the UKRI/ESRC, SSHRC, British Academy, HEFCE and Nuffield Foundation.
Yang is author of the book Chinese-British Intermarriage—Disentangling Gender and Ethnicity. His recent research has appeared in journals such as Nature Human Behaviour, Journal of Marriage and Family, Demography, European Sociological Review, Population Space and Place, Environment and Planning A, Journal of Sex Research, and Journal of Youth Studies.
