Manlin’s research examines how work, family, and migration processes intersect to shape social inequality, particularly in Chinese and Canadian societies. Her research draws on both quantitative and qualitative methods, analyzing large-scale nationally representative datasets alongside in-depth interviews. She is particularly interested in how job authority shapes gender inequality in workplace relations, family life, and well-being.
