I research stay-at-home fathers and their wives in China. My work examines how caregiving, fatherhood, masculinities, and gender and family relations in China are shaped and evolving. This project builds on and extends beyond my doctoral research on stay-at-home fathers, by adding a longitudinal dimension to observe these fathers’ changes and developments over time and by incorporating their wives’ experiences to delineate couple dynamics. I am particularly interested in how interconnected and disconnected masculine cultures operate within a global framework, with the aim of fostering South–South collaboration.
