My research explores how individuals articulate work and life identities in the context of technology (e.g., work-life boundaries on social media, flexible work and work from home, constant connectivity, privacy, and surveillance). In a cross-national perspective, I investigate these phenomena in diverse cultural and regulatory country contexts in Asia (e.g., China), Europe (e.g., France), and North America.

I am also very interested in how technological and societal developments (e.g., social media, algorithms and AI) may change the nature of work and of interpersonal relationships at work and in life.

My research has been published across several disciplines including management (e.g., Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management, Human Relations, Human Resource Management Review), sociology (e.g., Annual Review of Sociology, Lien social et politiques), and information systems (Computers in Human Behavior, Journal of the Association for Information Systems).

I chair the Technology, Work, and Family research group of the Work and Family Researchers Network and have received the 2014 Kanter Award for Excellence in Work-Family Research. Making research impactful is important to me: I was auditioned by the European Commission and the French government; I deliver conferences and training to employers and unions, and share research insights with the media.
