Abstract:

The wellbeing of families is a function of the wellbeing of each family member. When one family member struggles all others are impacted. If an employee’s occupational well-being is related to the well-being of the individual in their family, then an awareness of both occupational and family wellbeing is integral to maintaining an effective workforce. Similarly, an organization’s policies, wages, and demands can have an impact on an employee’s family. This relationship gives an organization the ability to make profoundly beneficial impacts on the community in which they reside by creating an environment that supports the wellbeing of not only their employees but their families as well.
